Pulse FAQs — How the WhatsApp Cash Flow Tool Works | FinFex
Frequently Asked Questions

How Pulse works.

What it is, what it costs, and how your numbers stay yours.

What is Pulse?+
Pulse is a cash flow tool that works entirely on WhatsApp. Every day you send one message with what’s in your till, and Pulse replies with your numbers — including a daily Safe-to-Spend figure that tells you what’s coming, not just what happened. It is built by FinFex Pty Ltd for South African traders, spaza shops, and informal businesses.
How does Pulse work?+
Three steps, one field, no forms. You send a WhatsApp message (or voice note) with your day’s takings. Pulse reads it, tracks your pattern over time, and sends back a simple daily insight: what you made, what’s safe to spend, and what month-end is going to look like. The longer you use it, the sharper your Pulse gets.
How much does Pulse cost?+
Joining the waitlist is free, and there is no app to download. Pulse works inside the WhatsApp you already have. Pricing for the full service will be announced to waitlist members first — the first 500 members get priority access.
Do I need to download an app?+
No. Pulse lives inside WhatsApp. If you can send a WhatsApp message, you can use Pulse. It works on any phone that runs WhatsApp, on any network.
What is the Safe-to-Spend number?+
Safe-to-Spend is the daily figure Pulse calculates from your takings pattern. It answers the question every trader asks: “If I take this money out today, will I still make it to month-end?” Your tally tells you what happened. Your Pulse tells you what’s coming.
What is Pulse Verified?+
After 90 days of consistent daily use, your business earns Pulse Verified status — a track record of your real cash flow, built from your own numbers. Over time, this record can help you show suppliers and lenders that your business is steady, even without formal books.
Is my information safe?+
Yes. FinFex complies with POPIA (the Protection of Personal Information Act). Your numbers are yours: we never sell your data, and you can leave and take your history with you at any time. You share only what’s in the till — no bank logins, no ID numbers, no statements.
Who is Pulse for?+
Pulse is built for South African informal traders and small businesses: spaza shops, street vendors, salons, taxis, tuckshops, and side hustles. If money comes into your till every day and you want to know where you’ll stand at month-end, Pulse is for you.
How do I join?+
Send the word JOIN on WhatsApp to +27 67 682 0384, or tap the Join button on this site. It’s free, and the first 500 members get priority access when Pulse launches.
